THE
HARPER ILLUSTRATING SYNDICATE started in 1891. Charlie Harper, who
up to that point in time had been in the coffee business, acquired
a small engraving press to produce monogrammed social stationery for
the local trade.
Seeing potential growth in this venture, he abandoned the original
business and devoted his efforts exclusively to the stationery trade.
The business grew and flourished until his death in the early 40's
and today is one of the largest stationery companies in the country.
With three production facilities and numerous sales offices, Harpers
manufactures all types of professional and commercial stationery for
domestic and foreign shipments.
